I post countless reviews on movies and stuff like that,
but aside from one post, I dont think I mention video games much.
This is odd because I love video games!
And of course I own the PS3,
My favorite game of all time would have to be...
Dead Space.
Hands down.
I love that game!
It's most noticable feature is that it plays out VERY much like a movie, no tacky HUD (heads up display), because its all on the main character's, Issac, armor; all the cutscenes are litteraly IN gameplay, no cut, bam, cut, load, it's all fluid and adds a very distinct atmosphere to the game.
The creatures themselves are very horrific and to me are more disturbing than an alien or a zombie, because essentially its both mixed together!
The plot is very well put together, and has a few BIG twists in the mix, and the settings to which it takes you are breathtaking and hold dark secrets to which you will uncover. Most of gameplay will take place on the USG Ishimura (the spaceship that has been overrun by the 'necromorphs', alien zombies), but dont be discouraged, no two parts of this ship is the same, we have areas that are ripped open to reveal open space and floating bodies, green rooms that provide the once thriving mini-economy on the ship with vegetables, we have the engine rooms, medical bays which hold very wicked visuals that prey on very viceral fears, even the docking bay in its vast hollowness, all of these enviroments provide not only stunning views but gameplay obstacles as well, when not finding your way around unique obstacles, you are slowly walking through the dark and shadow ridden corridors, with dried blood, open steam valves, hidden necromorphs, sparking electrical conduits, broken machinery, and every other reason to be scared of the dark, You are also able to develop a definate strategy against the Necromorphs, mine was stocking up 9000 rounds of ammo for the pulse rifle (the standard is a few hundred), uprgrading the heck out of it, and blasting away anything that moved, of course you can always pick a different weapon to hack, sear, decapitate, shoot, slice, saw, push, burn, and blast through all kinds of necromorphs thrown your way in the dark, disturbing, and frequently bloody world of DEAD SPACE. =D
I love this game!!!

Just when I think...
Just when I think that my DVD collection is friggin awesome,
I remember...
I sold all of my Rocky DVDs, my Rambo saga, and I don't
have the Evil Dead movies, or my personal fave: LadyHawke, Transformers, Hellboy 2, Superman III, IV, Batman, The Dark Knight, The One, Bulletproof Monk, Hard Boiled, Hot Fuzz, Kickboxer, Bloodsport, Red Heat, Punisher War Zone, Daredevil, Deep Rising, the Hidden, Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, Independence Day, The Mask, Judge Dredd and dozens of others! AND! Vhs doesnt count!
And if i have it, i most likely want to but it in special edition!
But i am proud to own the 20th anniversary steelbook, 2 disc, set of RoboCop, and i have the Ultimate Matrix Collection, and I have T2 the Ultimate Editon, Predator Special Edition, and a few many others i really like =)
BUT HOW COULD I NOT OWN 'ALIENS' COLLECTOR'S EDITION!
only I could actually pomp up a list of movies I DONT have... -_-

Hard boiled entertaiment
Here is a movie that I think should get around more.
Produced by John Woo, directed by Shinji Aramaki: Appleseed ExMachina.Completely CGI, except for voices and mocap of course, but this movie is just that: a movie.
It is anime if you will, but it has everything you would go to see a big hollywood movie for, and this movie has not picked up much of a non-geek following! Im surprised! The designs are intricate and brilliant, the story and plot is an unfolding mystery, and the acting is surprisingly convincing for cgi.
Keep in mind, they are NOT aiming for Beowulf realism, the are trying to keep in touch with it's anime origins. So be easy on it.
But I throughly enjoyed this movie, which led me to the first Appleseed movie, which was also CGI, not as good, but still pretty amazing.
(to all the fanboys out there, yes i do know about the Appleseed anime movie from the eighties, sadly i can't say either way because i can't hunt it down! So lay off!)
Briareos (see picture below) and his sexy partner (and girlfriend) Deunan Knute, kick ass and unravel a deadly conspiracy that will shake the world to its core in this wicked wild ride that throws it all at you both barrels balzing!

Now for another John Woo movie...
HARD BOILED!I guess they were half right when they said "More exciting than a dozen Die-Hard's!".
I am usually not one for live action, oriental action movies, unless of course its Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan.
But this movie won me over!
Chow Yun Fat is the ideal "hard boiled" cop thrown into an ideal plot where good guys are bad and at least one bad guy is not who he seems!
Yeah well... seen it all before?
No, no you haven't.
The gunplay in this movie is nothing short of GENIUS! Go ahead read that a few more times...
GENIUS!
GENIUS!
GENIUS!
I meant it every time. I was really honestly impressed! Which is truthfully hard to do! I mean even two of the movies in my top THREE favorite list didnt have as impressive action scenes as this!
I mean, I litterally said WOW, at some of the scenes in this movie! The action is nearly literally NONSTOP! There is never a dull moment in this movie! And I loved it! This is what real action packed entertainment is-
