Sometimes a film's originality and ideas are so fantastical that it outweighs its obvious errors and downfalls.
Slammed by critics and fans of source material alike, The League Of Extrordinary Gentlemen is one of those movies.

Its beautiful in its execution and it unfolds with an eerie grandeur, but some of the pieces dont click, and some sights are simply too outlandish to believe and such our intrest in the events on the screen slowly dwindles as the unbelievability keeps piling up. But there is a point in the movie where we no longer feel disintrested or bored, we are simply captivated by robust set pieces and legend-like heroes embarking on some quest to save the world in which we've had no intrest in until that one moment. Now, the coolest thing about this movie is that moment may come very early on in the movie for some people, and others may feel like they are trapped in a coma with their eyes wide open until they finally submit and let the grandeur take over. In all respect, I love this movie. More than I should. It feels like a nonsensical dream that you dont want to forget because it was so beautiful and adventurous. And make no mistake by beautiful i mean daunting and ominous yet the victorian style gives everything a terrifying and deep feel that is hard to describe. I doubt anybody else took the time to really look into this movie. They panned it off as a dumb movie so full of holes ad errors nothing else had enough merit to make it worth seeing. Sadly... it is full of holes and errors, BUT, i DO think that the acting, adventure, and overall subtle grandeur of it far outweighs the overly obvious bad, but it may take a few viewings to notice how undeniably cool this movie is.
