Jude Law is the next in the series of semi-docile actors who've had to develop beach board abs and a hell of a bad ass attitude to do movies like these.

I have to say, Repo Men is the a-moral, slam-bang, action, splatterfest 'with a heart' I've been waiting for.Its fast, brutal and very very bloody. Its laced with a VERY dark humor that some may find extremely distasteful, but the movie steps with it carefully and almost satirically.
For those of you who dont already know the premise, here goes.
Remy (Jude Law - Alfie, Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow) and Jake (Forrest Whittaker - Panic Room, Vantage Point) are best buddies, have been since the war, but now they are the best 'repo men' in The Union. The Union is a company who sells people artificial organs at outrageous prices, and obviously for some reason i missed, business is booming. But what happens when you fall back on your car payments? The bank reposesses it. What happens when you fall behind on payments for your heart?
Provided they have a taser and a sharp object, a butcher knife works just as well as a bone saw and scalpel, the repo men take it right out of your chest, beating or not.
Don't forget that the union can replace anything from your eyes, voicebox and lips, to your knees, liver, pancreas and spine. Everything can be replace... and just as easily (and bloodily) taken away.
Remy is quick to find this out when a faulty defibrilator unit explodes and screws up his heart. As company courtesy they are quick to put in a top of the line Jarvik. But when Remy realizes he cant afford payments he becomes sympathetic to those he hunted. He soons begins a dangerous mission to take down the system and stop all repossessions. Very fun. Very gory.
I will warn those who hate fuckered up endings...
brace yourselves and remember 'Brazil'.
I feel compelled to warn you, this movie is fast, cool looking, sleek, bloody, edgy, funny, and is probably one to miss.
It's depressing beyond belief, I hate endings like this, and I wanted SO BAD to LOVE this movie, but...
I can't. I saw it again to reevaluate but... I don't know if I would ever see it again because it depressed me so bad. Maybe I'll buy it and see it farther down the road again. But it would've been a fun bloody romp if it wasnt for the sad and very infuriating ending. It was one of those weird and fuckered up endings where it leaves a really bad taste in your mouth and a knot in your stomach.
