Bloody Hell.

God. I loved this movie. It has action scenes that would seriously make John Woo green with envy! Its a simple plot at first, so you think ok... all I expected anyways was some glory shots of Bellucci and tons of gore. I got all that, and a pretty cool story.
Clive Owen totally unleashes the badassness here, and his character is the epitome of iconic. Giamatti is funny here, very very funny here. He's quite the breath of fresh air as a villain. Suprisingly he too pulls off some kind of wierd badass. Lots of bullets fly, lots of bodies fall, and all in a totally awesome way. Each action scene sets up the next in an increasingly ipressive gauntlet of violence and gunfights. Lots of cool "HOLY SHIT" moments here and plenty of laughs to go around. This isnt one to be missed.
Also this movie has the best quotable lines since tarantino made Pulp Fiction.

A dozen times gorier than the Evil Dead, and twice the amount of humor. Does this make it a GOOD movie? Maybe. Maybe not. For me, Bruce Campbell will always be my #1 zombie killing hero. I think that this film's momentum picked up a lil late into the movie, but when it did, it REALLYpicked up! The jokes and punchlines here are pure fodder for horror fans and zombie freaks. hilarious.  This is possibly the goriest movie ever, but because of the humorous nature of it, it might not get to you as much as a serious movie would. The lawnmower scene alone is worth watching the movie for.
I liked it alot, but it still doesnt come anywhere close to being as classic as The Evil Dead movies. Still a bloody good time all around.

This movie is simultaneously futuristic and archaic, the style is like a newborn blade runner, and the story is... there. Kinda.  I don't know quite what kept me watching this movie...  maybe just James Cameron had three slots nailed down with his name on it? But even his hand in the mix was virtually non existant here, the movie was vague, underdeveloped and nowhere near as fun as the terminator films and Aliens. Figures... its directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who also directed the Hurt Locker, which i didnt like.
Her ability to make a solid movie is apparant, it is definately watchable, but not special by any stretch of the imagination. Theres no "HOLY SHIT" moment like Cameron is so noted for making, just a tired plot that ignores itself far too much. Alot is thrown at us, and by the end, we want to see the characters resolve THEIR problems, more than the story itself come to a conclusion. It dragged in my opinion. Its a good movie, in terms of acting, quality, dialog, and concept... but pacing, plot, and story are all very...
blah.

The only Bigelow film that i liked was Point Break. That movie was F*CKING awesome. Seriously.
