Beyond Re-Animator!

Oh wow, I actually really really enjoyed this one. Way more than the second one.
Some may mourn the fact that Bruce Abbot, "Dan", isn't in this one. Not me.
In most major ways he's what brought down the second movie, "Bride of Re-Animator". Don't get me wrong, he was my favorite part of the first movie. The part where he's carrying Megan out of the elevator was just totally iconic, such powerful imagery. Okay, enough about the other movies.
This movie tries to introduce a 'Dan'-like character into the mix, but truthfully, he's simply just a plot device to kick things off. The story is very much owned by Jeffrey Combs as Herbert West. Its HIS movie. A few tweaks and DAN 1.5 wouldn't even need to be in here, stinking shit up with his overacting and retarded lines.
The story arc here is perfect, and as always, nobody learns their lesson as everytime that damn green goo is around shit hits the fan. You'd think Herbert would finally learn that its not worth it and throw it away... but he won't... and thats why we love him.
At the end of each Re-Animator movie, at the climax, everything spins wildly out of control and freaky stuff happens, however in 'Bride' the climax was uncomfortable, confined and not well done. But plenty freaky.
In 'Beyond', the climax is pretty damn weird, but better than 'Bride' by leaps and bounds.
